LDAPeople V1.1: LDAP on iPhone/iPod touch goes into next round
Zurich, Switzerland - 26 September 2008
LDAPeople, the preferred solution for LDAP connectivity on iPhone / iPod touch,
today got its first overhaul since its launch in the iTunes App Store
on 28 August 2008.
New features (amongst others) of Version 1.1 include the option of
importing records from the LDAP directory into the local Contacts application
and direct display of postal addresses in the Maps application.
LDAPeople is a versatile LDAP addressbook client. It can be used to query
LDAP based directory servers for addressbook records. Records are displayed
in a detailled view where tapping on a person's phone number, e-mail or
website url will result in calling the specified number or open the e-mail
application or web browser for the selected address.
LDAPeople supports both LDAPv2 and LDAPv3 using anonymous bind or simple
authentication. Users may configure all attributes specific to their LDAP
directory of choice and apply a custom LDAP filter for their queries.
Moreover, LDAPeople features a complete attribute mapper where attributes of
a directory server may be mapped to the Contacts attributes on
iPhone / iPod touch.
LDAPeople suits the needs of employees of larger companies looking for the
phone number of a fellow coworker equally as of students looking to browse
their university's addressbook for a certain e-mail address.
Anyone wanting to browse an LDAP directory on their iPhone / iPod
touch will find that LDAPeople exactly meets their demands.
