The Early DaysBefore changing the company name in 2008 to "Neoos", the company went under the name "Boneware". Starting in 2005, Boneware was mainly doing research in educational software for mobile devices (J2ME/MIDP based). Development for iPhone / iPod touchIn summer 2008 the decision was made to focus on iPhone application development. Neoos has developed a portfolio of about half a dozen applications since. Why "Neoos"?We went a long way looking for a new company name, but in the end, the best solution was to go for neo (greek for "new") - os (latin for "bone"). So there you have it, the new Boneware: Neoos. As far as pronounciation goes, there are no rules applied. Feel free to pronounce it at your will. The founders pronounce Neoos as Neoos ;) Older website stylesHere's an archive of how our website looked in the elder days: www.neoos.ch/oldsite/2008.
